Te Rawenga is an online service that helps bring business owners and employees together to celebrate diversity.
As New Zealand's workforce increases in diversity every year, celebrating different cultures and religions within businesses is becoming essential. Diversity celebrations ensure employees feel welcomed and valued as individuals. Celebrations allow staff to build relationships with colleagues and feel included in their workplace.
However, there are challenges to making this a reality in any office setting. During this project, it was found that small to medium-sized businesses needed help to embrace their employees' diversity. They often did not have access to the services and people that larger organisations had to help them celebrate. They needed more education, resources and guidance on celebrating their employees' diversity.
Te Rawenga provides organisations with resources to help them learn more about their employees' diversity.
Service Features:
Diversity Survey: This survey gathers information about employees' identity, culture and celebrations. This information is automatically displayed across many of Te Rawenga's features so organisations can use the platform to prepare and plan for diversity celebrations.
Diversity Calendar: This calendar displays all the cultural events employees celebrate throughout the year, ensuring significant events are never missed.
Community Page: This allows workplaces to share diversity events with the community and draw inspiration from other workplaces' celebrations in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Celebration Information pages: These pages provide information about events, such as, which employees celebrate the event, and how to celebrate it appropriately within the workplace. It offers connections to local services and communities within Tāmaki Makaurau that help develop a deeper understanding of the event.
Create New Event: This function allows businesses to organise a celebration seamlessly.
Feedback Survey: This survey allows employees to reflect on an event and to ensure it improves over time.
