Ngātahi - Improving Diversity and Inclusion One Event at a Time

Ngātahi is an event-planning web app that allows colleagues to connect over their cultures and religions. The goal of the web app is to encourage diversity and inclusion in workplaces in Aotearoa while consciously aiding in decreasing misunderstanding, stereotypes and prejudice between workers.

When designing for workplaces in Aotearoa, it was important to incorporate Māori Tikanga values and principles in the design process. Manaakitanga, the value of having kindness and respect for others as well as whanaungatanga, the value of nurturing relationships and providing a sense of belonging were huge drivers for this project.

Ngātahi is equipped with event planning tools to inspire insightful gatherings and deeper understanding between colleges, opportunities to share celebrations with your team, learn more about different cultures and religions through reliable articles and gain knowledge on how to have respectful conversations around these sensitive topics. This web app will integrate with workplace communication platforms such as Outlook, Slack, and Microsoft Teams for seamless sharing and use.
