Unconscious barriers exist where ideals and values collide, often cultivated through spirituality or generational experiences. This project aims to remove these barriers and increase diversity and productivity in the workplace by introducing a knowledge-sharing/facilitation tool focused on improving understanding and respect between users. The goal is to help cultivate a safer environment where trust and diversity can flourish, promoting greater collaboration and cohesion.
Truth, Family (bonds) and Trust are the core values shaping this project and its outcome. Truth, in this project, refers to an individual's personal beliefs, identity and values. This project aims to improve the understanding and respect of each individual's truth to improve comfort and safety within the workplace. Family refers to the bonds between people. Strengthening these bonds through improved understanding and respect for one another's truth is at the core of my goal. Trust is the backbone of this project. Building and ensuring trust exists between people will be the mark of a successful solution. Improving diversity is the goal, and trust is the solution.
The BONDS platform is a follow-up tool for Diversity Works NZ and is provided to their partnering businesses. The platform asks a question a day between group members based on an Age or Religion stream. These questions are curated to slowly break down and reveal the values of each worker. It then focuses on building understanding and respect for each individual's values. This increased understanding helps create a safer environment where cooperation and efficiency are improved. Together we can make our workplaces more comfortable, more understanding and more diverse.
