This project addresses the global issue of racial discrimination in workplaces. While Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training and e-learning courses are widely used, there is a gap in platforms that support ongoing conversations about racial discrimination after formal training. This lack of continued engagement hinders long-term change, as workplaces often struggle to provide safe spaces for such discussions. This project explores this gap through mobile app design to answer the question, ‘How might we create a platform for employers and employees to safely and confidently discuss racial discrimination in the workplace after DEI training?’

The solution arrived at was Figma prototype of an app and platform that extends Diversity Work NZ's services by providing a safe online space for users to continue discussions about racial discrimination post-training. Users can engage via a comment section or anonymous chat room, and additional modules—such as resources and quizzes—further educate them on race and ethnicity. This project provides new insights into how digital platforms can support ongoing conversations on race, ethnicity, and sensitive topics in the workplace.
