Abstract
This is a letter to the coffee community. Coffee beans are at the core of our passion. We spend so much time and dedication in sourcing, maintaining and brewing the perfect cup of coffee. Yet as a community, once the cup has been brewed, we simply discard their grounds. And this is a problem. Binning coffee grounds isn’t just the neutral option; it’s harmful. The compounds within our used grounds break down and cause the land to turn more acidic, spoiling it for generations to come. We are poisoning our land.
This project seeks to intervene in this space, to bring awareness to the problem of what coffee grounds really are and to help point out in what directions we could head in as a community to a better world.
A huge thank you to everyone who has been a part of this project.
In particular, to Ayla my Stream Leader who guided me throughout the project.
To Steve who has helped me out so much throughout the creation of it.
To Aldo, Ajay and Yasmin for helping me bring my vision to life.
To my family for all your love, prayer and support.
And above all to God for His wisdom and grace throughout this journey.
